FOMs Meeting Minutes

19th November 2018

FOMs Christmas Fair Meeting

ATTENDEES : Mr W, Keith, Scott, Chell, David, Marie, Rebecca, Gemma, Lorna, Jamie, Emily.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Christmas fair 14.12.18

First of all the non uniform day has been set for Friday 07.12.18 to collect chocolate from KS1

& bottles from KS2 - for the tombola stalls.

Staff are being asked to bring in mince pies & cakes for the refreshment stall.

We have 14 outside stalls coming this year, the most we've ever had so hopefully this will add some new variety to the fair!

SCHOOL STALLS -

A list will be going up in the staff room for volunteers to run the following:

  • Face painting
  • Nail painting
  • Reindeer food
  • Cookie decorating
  • Refreshments - (Jon) plus -
  • Human fruit machine
  • 100 square -  (Keith)
  • Chocolate tombola
  • Bottle tombola
  • School council games room (David) plus -
  • Water & Wine

Jamie had a few other good ideas which need equipment so are on hold until we look into it!

Very important .....

Santa's grotto - We are in need of a new Santa as unfortunately our regular has not been well.

Keith has volunteered his Dad - Dad needs to agree so this is to be confirmed! (please tell him we reward with

his favourite liquid spirit!)

We decided to make the grotto a 'break even' rather than a profit maker.

Charging £2 we will source a small gift & a selection pack or just a gift that will be appropriate across the ages & genders.

All ideas welcome!

Also discussed was moving the grotto. The library is the preferred option and Keith's 'grand design' plan is definitely a

good move but also needs screening, decoration & lights etc. Blankets, curtains or sheets are needed if anyone has anything

to spare.

Tina is head Elf.

A school stall selling something the children will want is also needed. We've had flashing Santa torches .. we need to find

something popular, in bulk, for cheap - that we can sell!

School council prizes need to be bought.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Other business:

Christmas movie night - wasn't discussed but needs looking at as this was really popular last year.

Christmas jumper day - last day of term - £1 donation for save the children.
