World Book Day 2017

03rd March 2017

A fantastic day was had by all as we celebrated World Book Day! Pupils came in a range of cleverly thought out costumes from Sherlock Holmes to Harry Potter. Even the staff got involved by each dressing up as a traditional book character.

In classrooms pupils engrossed themselves in many different reading activities.

Early Years went on a hunt for the ‘Big Bad Wolf’ and retold the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

Year 1 pupils enjoyed ‘Charlie and the Cheesemonster’. They drew Charlie’s rocket and created adverts to advertise it.

Year 2 pupils loved writing book reviews for ‘Aliens in Underpants save the World!’ They even got to design new underpants for the aliens.

Years 3 & 4 pupils went on a scavenger hunt in the school library finding as many key objects and words as they could! Well done to Nikkola who found them in the quickest time!

Year 5 pupils continued reading Holes! Some pupils even chose to dress up as characters from the text.

Finally, pupils in Year 6 looked at different animal costumes, books with animals in and then translated them into French.
